Juvederm®

JUVÉDERM offers a collection of six FDA approved hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, indicated to treat 10 different areas of the face. Each product adds volume to help achieve your unique aesthetic goals.

The JUVÉDERM® Collection of Fillers has products that are FDA approved to temporarily add volume to different areas of the face: the cheeks, chin, temples, smile lines, lips, undereyes, and jawline. During treatment, JUVÉDERM® filler is injected into the treatment area by your licensed specialist using a needle or cannula to add subtle volume for smooth, natural-looking results.

Did you know? All JUVÉDERM® fillers contain pain-reducing lidocaine to help manage injection pain or discomfort.

With optimal treatment, results can last 1-2 years depending on the JUVÉDERM® product used and area treated.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Schedule wisely Avoid major social events immediately after your appointment; mild swelling or bruising is common for a few days. Plan fillers around your schedule to allow for recovery time if needed. 2. Stop certain medications and supplements A week before treatment, avoid anything that can thin your blood and increase bruising, unless prescribed by your doctor: Aspirin, ibuprofen, or naproxen Fish oil, omega-3 supplements Vitamin E and high-dose herbal supplements (e.g., ginkgo, ginseng) Always confirm with your healthcare provider before stopping any medications. 3. Avoid alcohol Alcohol can increase bruising and swelling. Skip it for at least 24 hours before your appointment. 4. Minimize skin irritation Skip aggressive facials, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 1–2 weeks before treatment. Make sure your skin is healthy—avoid sunburn or active rashes in the treatment area. 5. Stay hydrated Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin responds better to fillers. 6. Plan your skincare Avoid topical retinoids or exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) 24–48 hours before treatment to reduce sensitivity. Gentle cleansing is recommended on the day of your appointment. 7. Discuss your goals and health history Have a clear idea of the results you want. Tell your injector about any allergies, previous fillers, or medical conditions. Mention any history of cold sores if you’re getting lip fillers—your provider may recommend antiviral medication. 8. Arrive with a clean face Skip makeup on the area being treated to reduce infection risk. 9. Prepare for aftercare Have ice packs or a cold compress ready for swelling. Avoid planning heavy exercise or alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment.

What should I do after treatment?

1. Avoid touching or pressing on the area For the first 6–12 hours (and ideally 24 hours), avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas. This helps the filler settle evenly.

2. Skip heavy exercise for 24 hours Strenuous workouts can increase blood flow and swelling. Light walking is okay.

3. Minimize heat exposure For the first 24–48 hours, avoid: Hot showers Saunas Hot tubs Tanning beds Heat can worsen swelling and bruising.

4. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours Alcohol thins the blood and can increase swelling or bruising.

5. Use ice gently (if advised by your provider) Apply ice for short intervals (wrapped in a cloth, never directly on skin) to reduce swelling.

6. Stay upright Try to avoid lying face-down or pressing your face into a pillow immediately after treatment. Sleeping on your back the first night can help.

7. Delay makeup Most injectors advise waiting at least 12–24 hours before applying makeup to reduce irritation and contamination risk.

8. Expect mild side effects Common, temporary effects include: Swelling Tenderness Small lumps Bruising These usually improve within a few days.

9. Don’t schedule facials or treatments Avoid facial massages, chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments for 1–2 weeks, unless your provider says otherwise.

10. Watch for anything unusual Contact your injector immediately if you experience: Severe or increasing pain Skin discoloration (pale, dusky, or blotchy) Signs of infection Vision changes These symptoms require prompt medical attention.
